A young man was shot and wounded in Sainte-Foy

A 24-year-old man is in critical condition after a shooting in Sainte-Foy on Tuesday evening. The suspect is still being sought by the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ).

At 9:38 p.m., police were called to intervene after a critically injured man was found in the middle of the street at the corner of rue de la Verdure and rue Flore-Duquet, near the Henri-IV highway.

“The man had serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital,” SPVQ spokesman David Poitras said.

Several police officers swarmed the 300-square-metre quadrangle between the road leading to Chute and the Henri-IV motorway. A dog handler is employed to support the work of the patrols.

“Investigators and the Forensic Identification Unit will be arriving at night to examine the scene,” continued David Poitras.
