A woman was seriously injured after being attacked in an apartment on Sacré-Coeur Street in Longueuil on Tuesday evening.
According to Longueuil police, the incident occurred in a domestic environment around 8:30 p.m.

At the end of the evening, a suspect in his forties was intercepted near the residence, said Jean-Pierre Voutsinos, spokesman for the Longueil Aggregation Police Department (SPAL). Investigators are due to meet him in a few hours.

However, the circumstances surrounding the attack remain unclear.
For its part, the Cooperative of Ambulance Technicians of Monterrey (CETAM) noted that it transported a patient in his twenties to the hospital center.

She had “serious injuries” but was conscious during transport, CETAM spokesman Alexandre Barbeau said.
