Apple kills SIM tray on iPhone 14 and 14 Pro in US

Apple has added a lot of new features to its latest iPhones, including a stylish display on the iPhone 14 Pro it calls dynamic island. But as is often the case with the company, Apple offers and takes away, and the feature it’s removing this time around is the physical SIM card slot. With regard to American models, the company is fully working on eSIM technology.

In practice, this decision will have some implications for how you use the iPhone 14 if you decide to upgrade. First, you simply won’t be able to transfer the SIM card from your current phone to your new device. Instead, you will need to either contact your carrier or complete the online registration process. Many people when traveling tend to buy local SIM cards as a way to save on data roaming costs. This is something that wouldn’t be an option if you bought an iPhone 14 in the US.
