A lengthy police investigation followed, involving reconstruction experts and biological analyses. A year later, the Crown felt they had gathered enough evidence to charge Cruz Goses.

He now faces four charges of dangerous driving causing death and impaired driving causing death.

Cruz Goses, who has a criminal record for identity fraud and assault with a weapon, has already spent a few short stints in prison.
