Lakers vs. Pistons Final result: Los Angeles win with Schroeder and Bryant back

With LeBron James still out as he continues to deal with his nagging adductor injury, the Lakers Once again Anthony Davis needed to step up. And, as has been the trend lately, Los Angeles provided the offensive punch the team needed to beat Detroit Pistons128-121, as made by Dennis Schroeder and Thomas Bryant Long-awaited returns to the lineup.

The Lakers It got off to a slightly slow start, and took an early lead before letting the 17-4 Pistons run for another hand and then some. But the inclusion of Bryant in the second quarter of his start of the season gave the team a much-needed boost of energy, enthusiasm and production, and the purple and gold rose to regain the lead in the second quarter, culminating in a fourth Lonnie Walker (who had 17 points of his own) to put the team ahead 68-64 at halftime.

Frame three was basically the same story in reverse, with a strong opener by Los Angeles pulled back by some slack in the quarter-finals.

However, Davis was again leading the Lakers. The seven-man imposed his will on the Pistons’ inexperienced frontline throughout the game, teaming with Bryant to bully Detroit inside and getting them into trouble, which Davis then exploited, pulling free throw after free throw — and a few unchallenged dunks — to shut it down. Davis finished with a season-high 38 points to go close to 16 rebounds and 4 blocks, providing another reminder of how dominant he is when he’s rolling.

Elsewhere in the purple and gold, Austin Reavis hit some key shots to help open up the lead on fourth place, showing the craft and shot making he’s shown at an increased pace this year to score 16 points. Schroeder also provided a welcome boost in his return, taking the entire field and irritating and delaying the Pistons to slow them from getting caught on their offense. It certainly wasn’t his most effective shooting night (1-5) but he’s shown a few glimpses of how he can help this team as he pulls off the rust.

This victory moved the Lakers to 4-10 on the season, and unlike the last break, the gap between tonight and their next game will be short, as the team will return to the Crypt on Sunday to host the Spurs for the first time. from three games with San Antonio next week as they look to extend their winning streak to three games.
