“A doctor and a nurse from another boat near the accident came to help the victim while they waited for the emergency services,” said Alain Lessard, spokesman for the Fire Department of the Coordination of Longueuil (SIAL).

When firefighters arrived, the woman was taken to shore, where paramedics attended to her.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries. We do not fear for his life, however, Mr. Lessard said.

In addition to SIAL and paramedics, the Coast Guard and Longueuil Coordination Police participated in the intervention.
