Oscar Mayer sells its first ‘Cold Dog’, a frozen pop that tastes like the brand’s hot flavor that is purported to have the ‘fresh and smoky umami notes’ of a hot dog and is topped with a bite mustard swirl. “Following the huge fanfare of our beloved Cold Dog, it was inconsequential to make this frozen, hot dog-inspired bob a reality,” Oscar Mayer spokeswoman Ann Field said in a press release.
However, it is not a national release. “Cold Dog” is now on sale for $2 at select Popbar locations in Long Beach, New York City, New Orleans and Alpharetta, Georgia, while supplies run out. Popbar is a chain of gelato stores that helped Oscar Mayer create this exotic flavor.
