Eligible vehicles are 2006-2013 Civics and 2006-2011 Acura CSXs. The maximum amount owners can receive is $2,675.

However, refurbishing a vehicle can cost between $6,000 and $8,000. According to Francis Boulanger, director of Fix Auto Sherbrooke, many owners will take the check but not make the repair.

The problem is purely aesthetic as the problem does not affect the reliability of the vehicle and does not increase the risk of rusting. And owners live with an aesthetically flawed vehicle for years.

Complaints that are difficult to understand

Compensation for resale loss, refund for repairs, compensatory damages: Compensation options are numerous and confusing.

All information regarding complaints can be found on the website of the law firm CBM et Associé (www.cblavocats.com). Eligible owners must make their claim by the end of March 2023 and can expect to receive their check as early as next summer, if not in the fall of 2023.
