The Liberal MP recalled that pro-Tramway candidates for Quebec’s mayor received more than 70% of the vote in the November poll. Marwa Risky accused the Legault government of “questioning the outcome of the municipal elections.”

Legitimacy and expertise
For his part, Melissa Coulombay-Leduk, Municipal Councilor of the Mayor Merchant Party, argued that the project would contribute to the fight against climate change.
He stressed that all the “legal” and “expertise” to set up the tramway lies with the municipal administration.
At first, Quebec leader Claude Villanueva joked that the “social acceptance” condition put forward by the government appeared to be necessary for the tramway, but not “to pollute Limoilo’s air”.
“If we want a tramway, now is the time to mobilize. The government must provide the tramway there,” said Jackie Smith, President of Transitional Quebec.
Representatives of business development companies and environmental councils appealed that the tramway be able to combat labor shortages by facilitating the movement of citizens and workers.
