Hot weather will still prevail this Tuesday, but the arrival of a rain system from the western parts of the province will lower the mercury on Wednesday.
Temperatures in Montreal will reach 30 degrees and summer values under skies alternating between sun and clouds, while rain is forecast for western Quebec between Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather forecast for several departments such as Val-d’Or, Papineauville – Chénéville, Témiscamingue and Lièvre River.
“Generally, a total of 20 to 40 millimeters is expected. However, storms with rain could increase the amount received in places in western Quebec to more than 50 millimeters,” the federal agency indicated.
In Quebec, morning sun will give way to clouds in the afternoon, where winds of 40 km/h will blow in many areas with temperatures of 27 degrees, the government agency said.
Eastern Quebec will also be mostly cloudy, with the exception of the Gaspé Peninsula, where it will be a sunny 29 degrees, while the mercury will drop on the north shore.
The depression will affect other parts of the province on Wednesday, possibly bringing less intense rain, but that won’t prevent a sudden drop in temperatures that will swing between 22 degrees in Montreal and 19 to 21 degrees in the province.
