32 academic diplomas: A Canadian woman breaks a historic record

A Canadian from Nova Scotia has added a 32nd degree to her collection this year, becoming the woman with the most university degrees in history.

“There was a misconception in one of the Avengers movies. Bruce Banner [The Hulk] Seven claimed to have received Ph.D. So, I’m determined to have eight now,” laughed Dr. Stephanie Atwater of Nova Scotia in an interview with Global News on Thursday.

In early December, the 42-year-old Canadian received top honors by being crowned “Woman of the Year.” World Achievement AcademyOne of the world’s largest organizations for providing world records.

Just a few weeks ago, the woman officially certified 32 university degrees, including three doctorates in physical medicine and rehabilitation, osteopathic clinical rehabilitation and naturopathy, obtained between May 2004 and June 2023.

In parallel with her studies, the doctoral student has her own clinic, which gives her the necessary flexibility to adjust her daily professional life and her continuing studies.

“I am currently completing my doctorate in science and clinical nutrition. My next fields are health, psychology and clinical psychology, then pharmacology,” he told English-speaking media.

Her education bug was born after she was in a car accident her freshman year of college that left her with severe brain damage that required her to relearn how to read, speak and do math. Doctors also warned that she might suffer from dementia later in life.
