As the victim traveled southbound in a red Hyundai Accent, he turned left to join Chemin du Moulin.

“At first glance, the driver did not give way to the heavy truck that was coming from the north, so in the opposite direction,” explains Audrey-Anne Bilodeau, spokeswoman for the Sûreté du Québec.

After the impact, Agent Bilodo said the young woman was in “extremely critical” condition. He was finally pronounced dead at the hospital.

As for the heavy truck driver, in his late twenties, he was treated for a nervous breakdown.

Collision investigators were sent to the scene to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
