Tyler walked away from the stage in September 2023 after Aerosmith's final show left him seriously injured.

According to a statement issued by Tyler's team, while performing a concert on Long Island, he was injured while singing.

Immediately after the performance, Tyler traveled to Boston to meet with an ear, nose and throat doctor, who x-rayed the singer's vocal cords and found them to be “disfigured.” TMZ reports.

It was believed that Tyler's vocal cords were injured early in his show, but he was able to finish his set. In fact, he hid it so well that the public had no idea he was in pain, the newspaper reported.

At the time, Tyler was unable to speak, a source told TMZ. It only “squeaked” before putting it into acoustic rest mode.

Tyler wrote in his statement: “To all our fans, I am extremely saddened to say that I have been given strict doctor's orders not to perform for the next 30 days. I sustained vocal cord damage during Saturday's show which resulted in subsequent bleeding. We will need to postpone some dates until we can We'll come back and give you the performance you deserve.

Although there isn't much more information than that, a source told TMZ that “Steven is an animal. There's no stopping him.”
