Beauport fire: Three firefighters taken to hospital

Three firefighters of Quebec want of Be carried away Following a fire that broke out in an apartment building in Beauport sector at a hospital center on Saturday afternoon.

The latter were alert during their transport and there is no reason to fear for their lives, according to the Quebec City Fire Protection Service.

Firefighters were called to the scene around 1:30 p.m. due to smoke coming from the ground floor windows. Fortunately, no one was inside the hostel when the incident took place.

In all, 35 firefighters were busy with extinguishing, spread checking and ventilation operations.

The fire was brought under control an hour after emergency crews arrived.

Residents of the only occupied apartment were taken care of by the Red Cross as the building could not be reassembled due to fire damage.

Avenue Royal was closed in both directions for the duration of the intervention.

Firefighters remained at the site late afternoon trying to determine the cause of the accidental fire.
