Bob Lee, the technology executive who created the mobile payment app Cash App, has been stabbed to death in San Francisco, California. Tuesday morning, according to reports.

He was 43 years old.

The tech mogul, who previously served as Square’s chief technology officer, was attacked in the downtown Rincon Hill neighborhood at 2:35 a.m. According to the San Francisco Police Department.

Lee has served as Chief Product Officer at San Francisco-based cryptocurrency company MobileCoin since November 11. 2021, according to his page on Linkedin.

Tributes from co-workers began pouring in Tuesday night, with MobileCoin CEO Joshua Goldbard calling me a “force of nature.”

Later, Lee founded the social network Present, and went on to invest in companies such as Figma, Clubhouse, Beeper, and Faire.

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world, Lee helped the World Health Organization with their mobile app and later helped develop an at-home testing company.
