In his statement released on Friday, Me Donald Nicole explains that young Jessy-Jay Maheux was in the habit of driving his vehicle over the speed limit and rarely wearing his seat belt.

A friend of the victim, who was in his presence minutes before the accident, said that the youth was drunk and unable to drive his vehicle.

A container of marijuana and consumable paraphernalia were also found after the vehicle was pulled over.

No sign of braking

The accident happened around 3 am on President Kennedy Road. The young Beauceron then traveled northward as he continued his course in a straight line reaching a bend.

“The vehicle then crossed the oncoming lane, went down a ditch and collided head-on with the end of a private entrance curb. The violent impact then threw the vehicle into the air, ending its journey and overturning on the passenger side,” we read in the statement.

A visual inspection by the police found no signs of braking or skidding on the road. The extent of the damage to the front of the vehicle also suggests that Jessie-J Mahex was traveling at a high rate of speed.

However, the general condition of the vehicle, cell phone use, road markings, road infrastructure and weather conditions may not be in question.

Multiple head injuries

“All the evidence gathered demonstrates that Mr. Maheeks died of blunt force trauma to the head as a result of a violent exit from the roadway,” the autopsy report stated.
