A teenager who was repeatedly raped by her father over seven years showed courage by recording him during an attack without his knowledge, retired judge Nicole Gbiold has underlined.

The father, whose identity cannot be released to protect his daughter’s identity, began sexually assaulting her when she was seven or eight years old.
Events continued into his youth. She ends her ordeal after being able to capture her father during a recording of one of his attacks.

In the program “Dossiers en cours”, Nicole Gibeault commented on the file, disgusted by the details of the story.
“It’s unbelievable, it’s beyond belief that a dad can do this while claiming to play sports. […] This time she had the speed to pick up her cell phone and record, and that was concrete. Concrete,” she recalls.
The accused, who pleaded guilty in a court in Longueuil, was sentenced to eight-and-a-half years in prison.
Once or twice a week, the father raped her and forced her to have a full-fledged relationship from the age of eight.
