After her ex-boyfriend/tow truck driver (played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach) gets her car back, Lawrence Maddie—an out-of-work Uber driver—discovers a Craigslist ad posted by two wealthy parents (Matthew Broderick and Laura Benanti) looking for a woman to “date” Percy. associated with college in exchange for a new car; The definition of “history” is loosely coupled.
With her house also on the line, Maddie gets the job, only to find out that Percy is “not full”. What follows is a chain of events that slowly, over the course of the Red Band trailer, brings Percy out of his shell.
No hard feelingsDirected by Gene Stupnitsky and co-produced by Lawrence, it also stars Natalie Morales, Andrew Feldman, Hasan Minhaj, and Kyle Mooney. The comedy hits theaters June 23.
