Kate Middleton was a vision at Buckingham Palace’s reception for members of the diplomatic corps this evening.
On this lavish occasion, the Princess of Wales looked stunning in a pink sequined Jenny Packham gown with a Lover’s Knot Tiara atop her signature loose waves. This is the 11th time she’s worn the sparkling headpiece (she was first seen wearing it in 2015), and overall… Sixteenth time wearing the crown Since her marriage to Prince William in 2011.
The Lover’s Knot was one of Princess Diana’s favorite tiaras. It was made for Queen Mary in the mid-1900s by the House of Garrard from pearls and diamonds that her family already owned.
To complete her look, Kate paired this dazzling set with what appear to be Queen Elizabeth’s Greville Chandelier earrings., The Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order star wore a sash over her dress.
Kate’s crown moment is her second in less than a month. In late November, the Princess of Wales took refuge in the royal archives and wore the Strathmore Rose Crown At a state banquet at Buckingham Palace. This was the first time Kate had worn the tiara, and the first time it had been worn in public in nearly a century. The headdress originally belonged to the Queen Mother and was given to her by her parents in 1923 before her marriage to the Duke of York and future King George VI.
Her look from tonight also marks a repeat from earlier this year. In June, Kate attended Celebrating the marriage of Hussein, Crown Prince of Jordan Hope for the sword Wearing the exact same ensemble.
Tonight’s reception celebrates one of the world’s largest diplomatic corps and will see senior royals meet representatives of countries accredited to the Court of St James. It is also the first diplomatic reception since the official coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla earlier this year.
Earlier today, Kate was outside heading to the new day surgery unit at the Evelina London Children’s Hospital in Westminster, London. For this outing, the Princess of Wales chose a blue pantsuit designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, which she paired with high-heeled shoes.
