New Apple leak reveals iPhone 14 price hike

It’s now an open secret for the iPhone 14 collection launch at higher prices, but the outstanding questions are “Which models and how many?” And now we may have an answer.

In a research note obtained by Mac rumorsDan Ives, senior analyst at Wedbush, revealed that the iPhone 14 Pro models will receive a $100 price increase. He also believes that three of the four new iPhone 14 models will be priced higher than their predecessors.

“While the base iPhone will remain at the same price, we believe a $100 iPhone 14 Pro/Pro Max price increase is likely in store due to higher component prices as well as additional functionality in this new version,” Ives explains.

If true, Ives’ numbers would see that these models are priced as follows:

• iPhone 14 – $799
• iPhone 14 Pro – $1099
• iPhone 14 Pro Max – $1199

Storage levels are expected to remain unchanged, meaning final prices are $1,099 for the 512GB iPhone 14 and $1,599 and $1,699 respectively for the 1TB iPhone 14 Pro / iPhone 14 Pro Max. It’s important to note that these numbers are in line with Apple’s new pricing strategy, which adds a $30 premium to non-Pro models when purchased without a 24-month carrier contract.

The third increase comes from Apple’s new iPhone 14 Max, which replaces the $699 iPhone 13 Mini. Essentially a 6.7-inch version of the standard iPhone 14, Ives says the iPhone 14 Max will start at $899 ($929) without a 24-month carrier contract. The $799 iPhone 14 has also become the new starting point for the range.
