Insomniac Games has shared more details regarding Marvel's Spider-Man 2's giant update planned for March 7, 2024, including new suits to wear, New Game+, and more features like Ultimate Levels and Golden Gadget modes. The big news is that two new suits (shown above) will be available for $4.99 from March 7 through April 5 in the Fly N' Fresh bundle. It will be available for free at a later date.
The suits were designed in collaboration with the Gameheads charity, and all proceeds from sales of the Fly N' Fresh pack, up to $1 million, will go to them. Gameheads' mission is to empower “low-income youth and youth of color to succeed in the video game industry.” There will also be 10 new stickers for placing photos and 2 more frames bundled in the package.
In addition to the two brand new suits that have been temporarily paid for, there are also Marvel's Hellfire Gala suits for Peter and Miles, which will be free. Then there are a variety of new suit styles, and the ability to adjust the color of your symbiote abilities. Photo mode is being treated with new features and time of day options, while audio description and screen reader features provide welcome updates to the PS5 game's accessibility options.
Gameheads director Damon Packwood said the two new suits were inspired by a '90s boy for Miles and '90s TV for Peter. “Marissa Diaz, who designed the suits, was just having fun. We never expected Insomniac to like it but it sure was fun to design. Our designers had fun with the silliness, and the older folks, myself and the Insomniac crew, had fun reminiscing about our fashion choices in the '90s.”
