Quebec doesn't pay for its mild winters

Since December 1, temperatures in Quebec have been abnormal. Montreal's case is a good example, as December, January, February and the first part of March were unusually mild. The mercury was 6.8 degrees Celsius above normal in the first fortnight.

The next fortnight will mark a return to cooler temperatures. A trench is currently building in the west of the country, allowing arctic air to penetrate further south. This cold should reach Quebec, but to a lesser extent. Hence a portion of the province will have slightly lower than normal mercury. Elsewhere, temperatures are expected to be close to normal.

We will have another change in the first half of April. In fact, unusually mild temperatures will return to Quebec. Models predict that the situation will spread across the country.
