Random: The Ocarina Of Time link has been beautifully recreated in Unreal Engine 5

As The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time celebrates its 25th anniversary, people all over the world are celebrating Nintendo’s N64 masterpiece.

However, we go one step further, Curiomatica group of creative minds, showcased their vision of what Link could look like if he were faithfully recreated in Unreal Engine 5. The video above is called “Ocarina of Time Visual Remake,” and shows the final result of the project while looking back at the entire creative process.

Led by visual artist Prismwho previously contributed 3D models to the Mother 3 Tribute project, the approach taken in Ocarina of Time Visual Remake was to carefully study the original concept art from Yusuke Nakano, with the aim of modernizing Link’s overall look while maintaining his distinctive visual characteristics.

It’s an impressive endeavour, and certainly a big step forward compared to some of the other soulless Unreal Engine releases we’ve seen in the past. Hopefully the project will expand and introduce broader elements of the original game, but we can at least look forward to another Temple of Time-focused retrospective video in the near future.
