(Saint-Lin-Laurentites) A ​​person is being actively sought by police after being involved in a hit and run crash that caused the death of a pedestrian in Saint-Lynn-Laurentides in the Lanadier region.


The victim was a minor, but the gender and age of the victim could not be immediately disclosed.

According to preliminary information, the collision occurred on Route 335 shortly before 8pm on Wednesday evening.

“According to initial reports, a pedestrian collided with a vehicle and continued on his way without stopping. Unfortunately, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries,” Sûreté du Québec (SQ) spokeswoman Sergeant Marithe Boldak confirmed.

He was unable to immediately provide a description of the suspicious vehicle so as not to interfere with the ongoing investigation.

“A reconstruction of Sûreté du Québec and investigators are currently at the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding this collision. Research is underway to locate the suspicious vehicle,” said Sergeant Boldak.
