The new Mortal Kombat 1 update buffs the Cyrax Kameo, adds a Halloween stage, and brings back a much-requested feature

Mortal Kombat 1 has been out for a little over a month, and it’s already gotten some significant changes.

NetherRealm Studios has just released the latest update for MK1 that hits Cyrax Kameo with the nerf hammer, adds a new skin to the Halloween stage and brings back a popular feature that was missing at launch.

Although patch notes have not yet been released, Rooflemonger and others have pointed out that Cyrax’s horizontal turn assist now requires a full Kameo scale to perform.

This is a pretty big change for the undisputed best Kameo in the game to take up twice the resources on a move that was very good in combos and chains.

This means there will likely be more balance changes as well, but we’ll have to wait for the full breakdown to get the scope of what’s really different.

On top of Cyrax damage, NRS has also added a new version of the Halloween stage to the Cage Mansion, which will likely be available for a limited time for free.

Fortunately, they’ve finally added the ability to pin movements to the screen as well for improved learning and practice options.

The in-game patch notice also notes that players can now mute their opponents in online matches, use an in-game ping/connection indicator and purchase Halloween Fatality from the store as well.

For now, the update appears to be only available on PlayStation and Xbox, so PC and Nintendo Switch users will have to wait a bit to see the changes.

Note: We are adding some additional update information/additions found by players and the community as we continue to wait for the patch notes.
