The PVP preview for Armored Core 6 aired on August 19, and the show has some fans of the franchise excited. Top-ranked Armored Core PVP player and presenter Oroboro shared the face of the scary speculation.

Armored Core 6 is less than a week away from releasing on August 25th and it’s finally revealed by Bandai Namco PVP screenshots of the game Just a few days ago. The publisher invited YouTubers Oroboro and FightinCowboy to battle it out in the Armored Core 6 multiplayer arena.

The initial demo of Armored Core 6’s 1V1 mode had a certain type of leg dominating the battles. FightinCowboy has fleshed out top rated PVP player Oroboro with a tank tread structure in a brutal battle.

Since the release of the footage, the game community has been highly critical of what they see as glitches in the game’s builds. Oroboro posted a video on his YouTube channel in an effort to allay fears.

Are tanks too strong in Armored Core 6 PVP?

Oroboro gave more insight into the show’s own limitations to explain why Tanks did so much better. “We were limited to only using parts of Chapter 1, so this is equivalent to playing Souls PVP at level 10,” he explained. “This does not mean anything.”

“The tanks are very strong, but they are not as strong as people think,” Ouroboro continued. He explained that some parts that are unlocked later in the game will “give tanks a much harder time” when it comes to filling in the gaps.

Another concern from some longtime fans of the Armored Core is the new hard lock found in the Armored Core 6. Oroboro also addressed this stating “Hard lock is only really good at close ranges. At any other range it greatly reduces accuracy.”

The YouTuber argues that there’s still no room for meta predictions for the Armored Core 6. “It’s too early to tell if anything will be beaten,” he said. “People need to give it some time and see how it plays out.”

A tank’s high AP (health) and high damage output can make it a solid option in Armored Core 6’s early PVP landscape. More health gives more room for error and higher damage means it takes less successful hits to bring down an opponent.

However, most players will likely not interact with PvP in the game until they have completed the campaign and unlocked the full arsenal of customization options. Despite initial concerns, Oroboro says he’s incredibly excited about Armored Core 6’s PVP. “I think there is huge potential here.”
