Jerome-Vincent Vaillancourt, the “dangerous” fugitive who had been wanted for days in Pas-Saint-Laurent, was found in New Brunswick.

He was arrested by Royal Canadian Mounted Police officers around 1:30 p.m. in Saint-Quentin.
He was wanted since Wednesday for illegal release.
The fugitive took advantage of an authorized exit from the detention center where he was held to violate the conditions. He then left the road at Saint-Ulrig and fled on foot.
Police are asking for the public’s help in locating him.
Searches were initially concentrated in the Saint-Ulric and Matane sectors, in Bas-Saint-Laurent.
Finally, as authorities suspected Jérôme-Vincent Vaillancourt had gone to New Brunswick, the perimeter was extended.
The 40-year-old is a chronic criminal who has committed around 20 crimes, including multiple robberies, over a 25-year period.
In 2019, he was convicted of fraud and received a one-year prison sentence.
He was charged with theft of a vehicle and dangerous driving in 2014. His first crimes were in the late 90s.
