A 31-year-old man has been stabbed in his apartment in Montreal North

A 31-year-old man was stabbed in the Montreal-North borough area Thursday through Friday.

The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of an apartment building on Lapierre Avenue near Maurice-Duplessis Boulevard.

Upon their arrival at the scene, according to the version of the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), police found the victim repeatedly stabbed with a sharp object.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment for serious injuries, but these were not life-threatening, SPVM spokesman Manuel Koder said.

One suspect, a 50-year-old man, was arrested on the spot and was to be met by SPVM investigators to determine if he may have been involved in the armed attack.

Investigators will meet with the victim and witnesses and try to better understand the exact circumstances surrounding the incident, Officer Kottur said.

Although we do not know the reasons that led to this aggression, Montreal Police say the victim and the suspect know each other.
