A clash in Laval left one dead and three injured

A 26-year-old woman was killed and three others were seriously injured in a violent clash in Laval on Monday evening.

Just after 10:30 p.m., police were called to a crash on Route 335 near Perron Avenue.

A northbound sport utility vehicle reportedly veered out of its lane to pass before colliding with another small Toyota vehicle traveling in the opposite direction.

A spokesperson for the Laval Police Service (SPL) said the passenger in the Toyota sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The 26-year-old driver and the 19-year-old driver of the SUV and his 24-year-old passenger were taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Charges may be filed against the 19-year-old driver for allegedly overtaking without permission.

Investigators were dispatched to the scene to analyze the scene and determine the exact causes and circumstances of the collision.

Crews from the Ministry of Transport blocked traffic on R-335 overnight.
