They would have tried to intercept him, but the suspect did not see it: instead he chose to flee, hitting two civilian vehicles during his flight.

On a one-way street, a crazed driver allegedly drove into an oncoming patrol car to block the patrol car's path.

One of the wheels of the patrol car was also torn off in the impact.

The suspect, believed to be a white man in his 30s, fled the scene at the wheel of his vehicle, which sustained heavy front-end damage.

If arrested, the person could be charged with hit-and-run, assault with a weapon and dangerous driving.

Fortunately, neither police officers nor citizens were injured during the incident.

Today is the second time such an incident has occurred on the island of Montreal.

Around noon, a car thief allegedly drove into a police car, slightly injuring a nearby police officer.
