A demo for Final Fantasy 16 for PS5 has been released, saving game progress

Square Enix released a demo of Final Fantasy 16 on PlayStation 5 featuring the game’s intro, with progression carried over to the final version of the game – so you can begin protagonist Clive Rosfield’s epic journey now, if you feel like it.

The prologue introduces you to Clive as he navigates a spectacular and somewhat confusing battle between two warring factions, before returning to Clive’s youth as Prince of the Grand Duchy of Rosaria. During this section, you’ll learn the basics of the game’s smooth combat, encounter one or two excellent boss fights, and experience some pretty dramatic story beats. You will be able to choose your save game from the end of this introduction when the game is fully released.

I had a chance to play this prequel (and a little later in the game) a few weeks ago, and I’ve found it to have the intrinsic Final Fantasy feel, despite some big changes to the series’ traditional tone and gameplay.

according to PlayStation blog postCompleting the prologue unlocks a “Special Battle View” that gives you a taste of Clive’s abilities later in the game. This appears to be the Polygon beta sampled earlier this year that left us impressed with the game’s combat dynamics, which have been made better by devil may cry 5 Designed by Ryota Suzuki. You can’t save your progress from this part of the demo, but you can replay it as many times as you like.

Final Fantasy 16 It will be released on June 22, exclusively for PlayStation 5.
