The murder of Sammy Tamoro marks the beginning of a purge within organized crime caused by the “betrayal” of hitman Frederick Silva, who decided to turn informant.

It is a police doctrine taken seriously by the Canadian, Quebec and Montreal authorities.
“Several police sources we consulted today believe that the upcoming police operation to arrest the most notorious Montreal gangsters will disrupt organized crime, and that one of Silva’s associates, including Sammy Damoro, could be taken down by a police raid to silence those who already know too much about their activities,” JE said. A police source told a journalist a few weeks ago that Sammy Tamoro was going to be killed. The 37-year-old’s head has obviously been expensive for some time now.
The killing is in addition to several deaths within Montreal organized crime in recent years.
It was the death of Vito Rizzuto in 2013 that would have led to a game of dominoes within the Mafia. The Montreal clan has been in decline for a decade, a decline accelerated by the arrest of Frédéric Silva and the latter’s agreement to become an informant.
Eventually, all influential members of Montreal organized crime will be transferred as part of an expected purge by the police.
