Announcing PlayStation Plus games for January 2023

Officially confirmed PlayStation Plus games for January 2023 are Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Fallout 76, and Axiom Verge 2.

As detailed by PlayStation. Blog, All three of these titles will be available on Tuesday, January 3, for all PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra, and Premium members.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order for PS4 and PS5 is the first game to appear on PlayStation Plus games in January 2023, and it comes at the perfect time to get fans ready for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on March 17, 2023.

Fans who haven’t yet played this Star Wars adventure will be able to learn the beginnings of the story of Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis before the sequel begins five years later.

In our Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order review, we said, “Sells a solid package with a dark story while keeping things fun and faithful to Star Wars lore, and mixes fast-paced and challenging combat with active platforming, decent puzzles, and diverse locations to explore for an amazing all-round game.”

Next up is Fallout 76 from PS4, an online prequel to the Fallout series that allows players from all over the world to work together or not work together to survive the aftermath of a nuclear disaster.

When Fallout 76 was first released in 2018, there was a kind of rough launch. However, Bethesda has continued to support it and continues to provide players with new content and updates.

In our Fallout 76: Wastelanders review in 2020, we said, “The Wastelanders update at least cements Fallout 76 as something worth recommending to fans of the series interested in multiplayer. The new story is great, but it’s not as easy to play with friends as it should be.”

January’s latest game is Axiom Verge 2 for PS4 and PS5 and is the follow-up to the retro-styled 2D action game that pays homage to games like Metroid while also forging its own unique identity.

In our Axiom Verge 2 review, we said it’s “a 2D Metroidvania that engages in its exploration despite its one-dimensional combat and disappointing boss fights.”

While players await the arrival of these games, we’d like to remind everyone that they still have until Monday, January 2, to download the PlayStation Plus games in December 2022 – Divine Knockout: Founder’s Edition, Mass Effect Legendary Edition, and Biomutant.
