Saleem Duibi, 26, has already been detained for another offense and is being held at the Rivière-des-Prairies Detention Center.

Touaibi has a history of drug trafficking since 2017, for which he was sentenced to 90 days in prison.
An innocent kills
Meriem Boundaoui, an Algerian who was in Montreal to study and lived with her sister in La Prairie, was shot dead on February 7, 2021. He was 16 the next month.
At the time of the crime, he was with a friend who was traveling in an immovable car in the bakery’s parking lot at Rue Jean-Dalon in Petit McRae, Saint-Leonard.

According to the information we received, the young man who went with the teenager was talking to other youths when a car with two people went near the group standing near the vehicle and opened fire in its direction.
One of the young men standing near the vehicle was injured, but the young woman sitting in the car was hit by shells and died instantly.
After this crime, which shocked the public, the SPVM’s top criminal investigators launched a major investigation into which they did not spare any expense. This investigation is still ongoing.
According to sources, Dwivedi was driving the vehicle used during the murder. The vehicle we were trying to destroy would have been discovered by investigators.
Conflict between the two groups
According to our information, the crime was caused by an argument between two groups following a robbery outside Quebec and a clash between two families over a parking issue.
After the murder, relatives of the victim said the suspects were known in the area.
One year after the tragedy, last February, relatives and friends of Meriem Boundaoui’s family commemorated her death, saying they hoped justice would be done.
“It was a long investigation and investigators worked very hard to gather evidence. Meriem Boundaoui had nothing to do with it. She was an innocent victim of a crime she should never have committed.
