Hit and Run in Montreal: Traffic Signalman Suffers Injuries

A traffic maintenance co-ordinator who was seriously injured after being hit by a motorist in Mothiyal last week succumbed to his injuries last Monday.

This was confirmed by the SPVM to TVA Nouvelles on Wednesday morning.

On July 13, a driver tried to cross a construction site at the corner of boulevard Saint-Jean-Baptiste and Industriel in Pointe-aux-Trembles in the opposite direction.

At the same time a traffic signalman named Fabrizio Altieri was hit by a car. Mr. Beland was thrown face first to the ground. He was hospitalized in critical condition.

The 68-year-old fugitive turned himself in to a Montreal police station, where he was questioned by investigators before being released.

No charges have been filed against him at present.
