A subpar start to the Giants’ season and the Eagles’ need in the secondary conspired to change that outlook this week. Byard was traded to the Eagles and met with the media for the first time since the trade on Wednesday.
Byard was born in Philadelphia, but moved away as a teenager and said “it’s exciting for me” to be back in the city. He said he would “just come to learn the rules of the game, develop the relationship with the players, and try to come and help as much as possible” with a team that has a much better position in the standings than the one he led.
