Nearly half of the British public said Prince Harry should be stripped of the royal title after the Netflix series

Prince Harry continues to lose support among the British public following the release of his “Harry and Meghan” documentary series on Netflix.

A recent YouGov UK poll on behalf of The Times found that almost half of respondents believe that Duke of Sussex He should be stripped of his royal title.

According to the poll, 44% of the people surveyed think Harry’s surname should be removed while 32% think he should keep his surname.

Polls also found that respondents were more sympathetic to Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton than Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle after the two-part documentary series was canceled earlier this month.

44% of those surveyed said they had more sympathy for the Prince and Princess of Wales, while only 17% said they had more sympathy for the Sussexes.

Public opinion of Harry and Meghan also declined after World War II Documentary series releasedwith 23% saying they now think the couple is worse while only 7% saying it has made them think better of the two.

In January 2020, Harry and Meghan announced that they were stepping away from their roles as working members of the royal family. The couple moved to the United States and currently live in Montecito, California.

Sixty-five percent of people surveyed believed the couple had left the royal family of their own volition while only 11 percent said they believed the two had been kicked out.

In a 2021 television special hosted by Oprah Winfrey, Harry and Meghan level accusations of racism against an unnamed member of the royal family, who they say made a comment about their son Archie’s skin color.

Public views of Harry and Meghan have also declined following the release of the documentary, with 23% saying they now think the couple is worse while only 7% saying it has made them think better of the two.

However, 49% of the people questioned said they did not believe the royal family was a racist institution while 26% said they believed it to be racist.

The Sunday Times had previously reported that the couple were seeking a “royal summit” and an “apology” from the family.

According to the poll, 53% of respondents said they didn’t think Harry and Meghan deserved an apology while only 19% thought the couple deserved one.

After Harry and Meghan resigned from their positions as members of the royal family, the Home Office, the British ministry responsible for police, immigration and security, decided that they would not receive personal police security while visiting the country. Harry legally challenged this decision.

The survey found that the majority of respondents were more sympathetic to William and Kate than to Harry and Meghan after the release of the documentary.
