Toronto: Two children found dead after mother falls from balcony

Two boys, ages four and five, were found dead in a Toronto apartment Sunday, minutes after their mother was critically injured when she fell from a balcony.

This is yet another tragedy to hit this family with the sudden death of the father, according to the neighbors interviewed. Toronto Star.

Toronto police responded to a call around 7:30 p.m. Sunday to find a 25-year-old mother on the ground after falling from the balcony of her 6th-floor apartment. He is seriously injured and is expected to survive the fall.

Officers wanted to go to his house immediately, but came up against a locked door. After persuading her, they found the two brothers without vital signs, Toronto media reported.

According to Toronto Police Homicide Inspector Terry Brown, there were no visible marks on their bodies. Their deaths were sadly confirmed at the hospital.

According to Inspector Brown, the boys’ deaths are being treated as suspicious. An autopsy will be conducted in a week.

“I don’t think it was an accidental fall,” he said Monday of the mother’s accident Toronto Star. “But it depends on the information we get while inside the unit.”

The neighbors were shocked

A frightened neighbor heard a knock on the door and informed the police.

“It’s a shock, you know. I’m still in shock,” Sherry Mosley told the media.

The neighbor described the children as “adorable” and assured them their parents were always sensible. A tearful mother announced her partner’s death last week.
