A man was shot in his parked vehicle Sunday evening in the Rivière-des-Prairies neighborhood northeast of Montreal.
The Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) was alerted at 10:30 p.m. to a report of gunfire in the Place André-Ampierre parking lot near Copernicus Avenue.
According to initial reports, the lone occupant was not injured in the shooting, but his vehicle had at least one bullet hole.
While the unidentified suspects were in the moving vehicle, they targeted the vehicle and fled in an unknown direction.
Shell casings were found on the ground, but no suspects have been arrested, according to Montreal police, who are looking at possible surveillance cameras.
For his part, SPVM spokesman Rafael Bergeron said it could not explain why the victim, who cooperated with the police, was the target of gunfire.
